Does Bath House donate to charities?

Yes, we do. At Bath House, supporting people and protecting the planet is at the heart of what we do. We choose to support a number of causes that align with our values as a B Corp, including mental health, nature conservation, and community wellbeing.

We’re proud to donate to Mind Over Mountains, a charity helping young people access mental health support through time in nature. We also support the Save Windermere campaign, with all proceeds from our special Marjoram Soap going directly to protecting the lake. Locally, we give back through donations to schools, charities, and environmental initiatives such as the Lake District Foundation - including replacing Black Friday with donations instead.

While we receive many requests, we carefully select causes that reflect our commitment to sustainability, wellbeing, and community. We’re a small company with big values, and we do our best to make a meaningful difference where we can.

What does it mean that Bath House is a B Corp?

Bath House is proud to be a certified B Corporation (B Corp) - a global accreditation that recognises businesses meeting the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility, transparency, and ethics.

This means we’re legally committed to balancing profit with purpose - making decisions that benefit our customers, our team, the wider community, and the planet.

From sustainable sourcing to waste reduction and ethical business practices, every part of what we do is guided by this standard.

What is Leaping Bunny certification?

The Leaping Bunny is the internationally recognised gold standard for cruelty-free cosmetics.

Being certified means that neither our products nor our ingredients are tested on animals, and that every stage of our supply chain has been independently audited to verify this.

We are proud to carry the Leaping Bunny logo, which gives our customers complete confidence that our products are made with compassion and care.

Products & Formulations

Our Products

Who develops your products?

All Bath House products are uniquely developed in-house, with every formulation created through close collaboration between our team and expert chemists, perfumers, and skincare specialists. Each product is thoughtfully created to deliver effective, safe, and sensorial results, and is always formulated in line with strict EU cosmetic regulations.

We’re proud to now have our own in-house formulator, Sam, who plays a vital role in the creation of our collections. Sam dedicates his time to researching natural ingredients, green chemistry, and sustainable formulation technologies, ensuring our products are at the forefront of innovation while always remaining true to our values.

We actively seek out locally grown ingredients and those that are inspired by or connected to the Lake District, where our products are made. From natural botanicals to fragrance notes rooted in the landscape, this connection to our surroundings influences every aspect of our formulations.

Our goal is to create skincare and fragrance that is not only high-performing and beautiful to use, but also traceable, environmentally responsible, cruelty-free, and aligned with our values as a certified B Corp.

At Bath House, formulation is about more than just results - it’s about integrity, creativity, and care at every step.

 -

Many of your products say 97% natural - what makes up the other 3%?

At Bath House, we believe in honesty, transparency, and thoughtful formulation. That’s why we clearly display the natural percentage on every product - most are around 97% natural.

So what’s in the other 3%?

This small percentage is made up of carefully chosen ingredients that help ensure your product is safe, effective, and a pleasure to use. These include:

Preservatives, to keep your product fresh and free from harmful bacteria.

Fragrance components, to create the distinctive, long-lasting scents our products are known for. These may include safe synthetic elements blended with natural ingredients.

All of our ingredients - natural or otherwise - are selected with care, safety, and sustainability in mind. We source many ingredients from EcoCert and COSMOS-approved suppliers, and every product is made in accordance with strict EU cosmetic regulations.

As a cruelty-free and certified B Corp brand, we are also committed to ethical production and are actively working toward vegan certification.

We want you to feel confident in what you’re using on your skin. That’s why we focus on formulating responsibly - creating products that are as natural and sustainable as possible, without compromising on quality, safety, or performance.

Where do you make your products?

All Bath House products are made in small batches at our own making rooms in Dent, Cumbria, nestled on the edge of the Lake District. Every product is carefully created and hand-finished by our skilled team, using thoughtful formulations and natural ingredients. From there, orders are dispatched from our nearby office in Sedbergh, just a few miles away.

We're deeply inspired by the beauty and tranquillity of the Lake District - its clean air, wild landscapes, and sense of stillness are reflected in everything we create, from scent to skincare.

We’re proud to employ a dedicated local workforce and supply directly to our own stores, helping us minimise waste and reduce our carbon footprint. By keeping our production and distribution close to home, we maintain the highest standards of quality, care, and environmental responsibility.

Who designs your products?

All of our product and packaging design is created in-house by the Bath House team. Visual creativity has always been at the heart of our brand - it’s not just part of what we do, it’s part of who we are.

Our Creative Directors and founders have over 30 years of design experience, and that depth of knowledge influences every detail - from the shape of a bottle to the look and feel of our stores. Every element is considered with purpose, care, and a clear sense of identity.

We believe good design is about more than just aesthetics - it should be thoughtful, functional, and sustainable. That’s why our minimal, refined packaging reflects not only our brand style but also our environmental values. We always begin with sustainability in mind, designing in a way that reduces waste and makes responsible material choices from the start.

At Bath House, design is central to everything we create - beautifully considered, ethically made, and always with intention.

Are your fragrances natural?

Our fragrances use a natural alcohol base, which is gentler on the skin. The scent itself is a blend of natural essential oils and safe synthetic ingredients - a common practice in fine perfumery.

This approach allows us to create fragrances that are long-lasting, consistent, and complex, while also protecting endangered natural resources.

We choose every ingredient with care, ensuring our fragrances are cruelty-free, ethically made, and aligned with our values as a B Corp.

Once opened, how long do your products last, and how should I look after them?

Each Bath House product displays a P.A.O. (Period After Opening) symbol on the packaging - a small open jar icon showing how many months the product is best used within once opened (e.g. 6M, 12M).To keep your products at their best:Store them in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.Keep lids tightly closed when not in use.Products in clear glass should be kept out of bright light, while those in brown glass or aluminium are specially chosen to help protect the contents from UV exposure. With the right care, your products will stay fresher for longer and perform beautifully every time you use them.

How long do room diffusers last for?

Our room diffusers are designed to last between 4 to 6 months, though this can vary depending on the fragrance blend, room temperature, airflow, and placement.

To get the best from your diffuser:

- Turn the reeds once a week to refresh the scent and keep the fragrance circulating.

- Place the diffuser in a well-ventilated area - air movement helps disperse the scent more effectively.

- Avoid placing it near direct heat or sunlight, as this can cause the oils to evaporate more quickly.

Please take care when choosing where to place your diffuser. The fragrance oil can mark or damage natural surfaces, so we recommend placing it on a mat, coaster, or ceramic plate to protect furniture.

All our diffusers come with clear safety and usage instructions on the packaging. If you ever need guidance on how to get the most from your diffuser, our team will be happy to help.

Are Bath House products suitable for use during pregnancy?

Many of our products contain essential oils, which are safe for most people, but during pregnancy - especially in the first trimester - some essential oils are best avoided.

While our formulas use only diluted and carefully balanced levels of essential oils, we recommend that pregnant customers:

- Check the full ingredients list on our product packaging or website before use.

- Avoid products containing essential oils commonly advised against during pregnancy - such as Lavender, Nutmeg, Jasmine, Sage, and Rose - as an extra precaution.

- Consult a healthcare professional if unsure, particularly if you have any sensitivities or medical concerns.

At Bath House, we value transparency and safety, so we’re always happy to guide you if you need help choosing suitable products.

I have a nut allergy. Are your products safe for me to use?

Many of our products contain nut-derived oils (such as sweet almond oil, macadamia oil, or hazelnut oil), which are included for their nourishing skincare benefits. These oils are typically refined and are often considered safe for most people with nut allergies when used topically on the skin, as they usually lack the protein that triggers allergic reactions.

However, because:

- We regularly use nut oils in our formulation and production equipment.

- We cannot guarantee the absence of trace elements or cross-contamination.

- Individual allergic reactions can vary in severity.

We must take a precautionary approach and do not recommend our products for nut allergy sufferers.

If you have a nut allergy, we strongly advise consulting with a healthcare professional before using any skincare product - and if in doubt, it's best to avoid use.

Why has my favourite product been discontinued?

At Bath House, we’re always evolving - refining our collections and introducing new ideas. From time to time, this means we discontinue a small number of products or sizes to make room for fresh innovations.

These decisions are based on customer preferences, purchasing trends, and feedback from across our stores, website, and hospitality partners. Our goal is always to offer a thoughtful, balanced collection that reflects what our customers are looking for.

If your favourite product has been discontinued, we understand it can be disappointing. We encourage you to visit your nearest Bath House store, where our team will be happy to recommend a suitable alternative you may love just as much.

Can I purchase refills?

Yes, we offer refills for a wide range of our products, making it easier for you to reduce waste and shop more sustainably. Refills are currently available for:

Body Washes

Body Lotions

Hand Washes

Hand Lotions

Haircare

Shave Soaps

Kombu Cleanser and Toner

Bath Soaks

Our refill pouches are made from 85% less plastic than standard bottles and are 100% recyclable - they can be placed in your household recycling once empty.

Choosing refills is a simple habit that can make a real difference. It’s a small change, but together, we can help reduce the impact of single-use plastic in our bathrooms, homes, and communities.

Can I recycle my packaging?

Yes - and we’ve made it as easy as possible to help you do so.

We include clear recycling information on every product’s packaging, and you’ll also find detailed guidance under the ‘Sustainability & Recycling’ tab on each individual product page on our website. This section explains exactly how to recycle or dispose of each component, so you can make informed, responsible choices.

At Bath House, we put great care into making our packaging as sustainable and minimal as possible- from using recyclable materials to reducing plastic wherever we can. But we know sustainability is always a work in progress, and we’re constantly reviewing and improving how we design, label, and produce our products to help reduce waste further.

Thank you for joining us in making small changes that lead to a bigger difference.

How do I maintain my dispenser pump?

Our dispenser pumps are designed to be reused, helping to reduce unnecessary plastic waste. We encourage you to keep and reuse your pump with our refill pouches, available across our body lotions, hand washes, hand lotions, and haircare products.

For body washes, no pump is needed - our bottles are designed for easy pouring. However, if you do require a pump, it can be purchased separately and used again and again.

To keep your dispenser pump in good working order, we recommend this simple cleaning ritual:

1. Remove the pump from the bottle and rinse it gently with warm water (no need to use soap).

2. Fill the bottle halfway with warm water, screw the clean pump back on.

3. Pump the water through several times to flush out any remaining product.

4. Allow the pump to air dry fully before reusing.

This quick routine keeps your pump fresh and working well - ready for your next refill.

Thank you for reusing and helping us cut down on single-use plastic.

Can I use Bath House room diffuser oils in electronic or ultrasonic diffusers?

No, our room diffuser oils are not suitable for use in electronic, ultrasonic, or mist diffusers. They are specially formulated using a blend of fragrance and diffuser solvent, designed to work with reeds and open-air diffusion only.

Using our diffuser oils in an electronic or ultrasonic device could damage the unit and may not release the fragrance effectively.

For best results, please use your diffuser oil only with the glass bottle and reeds provided, and follow the care and safety instructions on the packaging.

Where can I see what ingredients are contained in the products?

We believe in full transparency, which is why you’ll find a complete list of ingredients clearly printed on all of our product packaging and available to view on our website under each individual product page.

We also publish regular Bath House Journal features, where we share more about the ingredients we use, their origins, and why they’ve been chosen - from powerful natural actives to gentle botanical extracts. It’s a great way to learn more about how our formulations work and the thought that goes into every product.

We’re always happy to help if you have specific questions about ingredients - just get in touch with our Customer Service team for friendly, knowledgeable advice.

Are your ingredients certified organic?

Not all of our ingredients are certified organic, but we do use organic ingredients wherever possible and are committed to increasing this as we continue to evolve.

You’ll start to see organic ingredients marked with a star on our product labels, so you can easily identify them. While not every ingredient is organic, we always prioritise high-quality, responsibly sourced natural materials that meet our ethical and sustainability standards.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and better formulation, we’re continually working to source more organic-certified ingredients for future products.

Do any of your formulations contain parabens?

No, none of our products contain parabens.

Parabens are widely used synthetic preservatives found in many cosmetic and skincare products. While they are legally approved for use, there has been ongoing speculation and concern around their potential health impacts.

At Bath House, we choose to avoid parabens entirely. Instead, we use gentle, effective alternatives - including natural and nature-identical preservatives - that keep our products safe and stable, without compromising on skin-friendly formulation or peace of mind.

This is part of our wider commitment to safer, more natural skincare that you can trust.

Do your products contain mineral oils?

No, we don’t use mineral oils in any of our products.

Mineral oils are commonly found in skincare and are derived from petrochemicals, such as paraffin oil - a by-product of crude oil refining. While widely used, we choose to avoid them in favour of natural, plant-based oils that are more nourishing and environmentally conscious.

Instead, we formulate with botanical oils like Sweet Almond Oil, Argan Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, and Olive Oil - all selected for their ability to hydrate, protect, and care for the skin naturally.

This choice reflects our commitment to creating skincare that is both effective and aligned with our values of sustainability and ingredient integrity.

Do your products contain SLES, SLS or ALS?

No, we never use SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate), SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), or ALS (Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate) in any of our products.

These are synthetic sulphates often used in shampoos and washes to create lather and remove dirt and oil. While effective, they’re known to be harsh on the skin, stripping away natural moisture and causing dryness or irritation for some people.

At Bath House, we only use natural, coconut oil–derived surfactants that are much gentler and more skin-friendly. They still create a rich, satisfying lather and cleanse effectively - without the harshness of traditional sulphates.Although these natural alternatives are significantly more expensive, we believe it’s worth it to ensure our products are both luxurious and kind to your skin.

This is part of our ongoing commitment to safer, more natural formulations that deliver results you can feel good about.

Do your products contain TEA?

No, we don’t use TEA (Triethanolamine) in any of our products.

TEA is a synthetic chemical often used in cosmetics to adjust pH or improve texture. While it’s widely used in the industry, we choose to avoid it in favour of gentler, naturally derived alternatives.

Instead, we use natural pH adjusters like Citric Acid or Lactic Acid, which help maintain the product’s effectiveness while keeping the pH level close to that of the skin - essential for both comfort and performance.

Each batch we make is carefully tested to ensure it meets the correct pH levels, so you can be confident our formulations are safe, gentle, and skin-friendly.

Do your products contain DEA?

No, we don’t use DEA (Diethanolamine) in any of our products. DEA is a synthetic chemical used to adjust pH levels, but we prefer to use gentler, naturally derived alternatives like Citric Acid or Lactic Acid. These help maintain the correct pH balance while being safer and more skin-friendly. Every batch we produce is carefully tested to ensure it performs effectively and stays kind to your skin.

Do your products contain MEA?

No, we don’t use MEA (Monoethanolamine) or any other synthetic foaming agents. MEA is often used in mainstream cleansers to boost lather, but we believe in a more natural approach. Our products are made with natural foaming agents, primarily derived from coconut oil. They may produce a softer foam, but they are more moisturising and far gentler on the skin.

Do your products contain artificial colours?

No, we never use artificial colours in our formulations. Artificial dyes are synthetic and can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people. Instead, we rely on the natural colour of our ingredients, which may vary slightly from batch to batch. This natural variation is a sign of the quality and purity of the botanical oils, butters, and plant-based extracts we use - nothing unnecessary added, just honest, skin-loving care.

Do your formulations contain allergens?

Some of our products may contain naturally occurring or fragrance-based allergens, which is common in both natural essential oils and synthetic fragrance compounds.

By law, any allergens present in a cosmetic product above certain levels must be clearly listed on the packaging. Previously, 26 fragrance allergens were required to be declared. However, as of July 2023, EU and UK regulations have expanded this list to include up to 82 fragrance allergens, in line with updated safety guidance.

At Bath House, we are fully compliant with all current cosmetic regulations. You’ll find any relevant allergens clearly listed at the end of our ingredient list on both our packaging and product pages online. This ensures that customers with sensitivities can make informed choices.

We’re committed to transparency, safety, and keeping our formulations up to date, so we continuously review our ingredient labelling in line with evolving legislation.

Do your formulations contain preservatives?

Yes, we do use preservatives, and for good reason - they’re essential for keeping products safe, fresh, and free from harmful bacteria, much like preservatives in food.

At Bath House, we take a balanced, minimal approach. We use a careful blend of natural preservatives (such as Vitamin E, Lemon Oil, and Potassium Sorbate) alongside small amounts of highly regulated synthetic preservativeswhen absolutely necessary. These help extend shelf life and keep your product stable - especially important for formulations that contain water.

We only use what’s really needed - usually under 1% - and we’re always guided by safety, skin-friendliness, and transparency.

We also avoid certain preservatives we feel don’t align with our values, such as parabens, triclosan, and bronopol. You can always find a full ingredient list on both our packaging and product pages online, so you know exactly what you’re putting on your skin.

Do your formulations contain alcohol?

Some of our products do contain alcohol - but only where it’s needed, and we always use natural, plant-derived alcohol.

You’ll find alcohol in the following products:

- Eau de Parfums

- Colognes

- Fragrance Discovery Sets

In these products, alcohol acts as a carrier that helps the fragrance disperse evenly and last longer. We choose a natural, alcohol because it’s gentler on the skin and more aligned with our commitment to using responsibly sourced, skin-friendly ingredients.

None of our skincare or bodycare products contain alcohol.

What are your fragrances made from?

Our fragrances are created using a blend of essential oils, botanical extracts, and safe synthetic ingredients.

This combination allows our perfumers to create scents that are not only rich and complex, but also have greater longevity and stability than essential oils alone can offer. It means your fragrance smells beautiful from the first spray - and lasts longer on the skin.

Every ingredient we use is carefully selected and must meet strict safety standards set by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA).

We never use animal-derived ingredients, and all our fragrances are cruelty-free, thoughtfully made, and in line with our values of sustainability and transparency.

Do your products contain petroleum?

No, we do not use any petroleum-derived ingredients in our formulations.

All of our skincare and bodycare products are made using plant-based alternatives that are effective, gentle, and aligned with our values. Instead of petroleum-based humectants like Propylene Glycol, we use ingredients such as vegetable-derived Glycerine and skin conditioners created from corn sugar fermentation.

These ingredients help lock in moisture, improve skin texture, and support overall skin health - while remaining natural, sustainable, and kind to the planet.

This is part of our ongoing commitment to creating clean, responsible products you can trust.

Do your products contain silicones?

We use silicones in only a small number of products, and always in very low amounts - less than 2%. Specifically, we use Dimethicone, a commonly used cosmetic-grade silicone that helps give products a smooth, silky feel and ensures ingredients blend well together.

Silicones are most often used in products like creams or conditioners to improve texture, spreadability, and performance. While many of our formulations now use natural alternatives - such as olive oil–derived emollients and coconut alkanes - a few select products still contain Dimethicone where a natural substitute does not yet provide the same effect.

These include:

Bergamot & Amber Face Moisturiser

Frangipani & Grapefruit Body Cream

Velvet Orchid & Cardamom Body Cream

Frangipani & Grapefruit Body Lotion

Velvet Orchid & Cardamom Body Lotion

Frangipani & Grapefruit Hand Cream

Velvet Orchid & Cardamom Hand Cream

Patchouli & Black Pepper Body Lotion

We are actively and gradually phasing out the use of silicones wherever possible, in favour of plant-based, biodegradable alternatives that offer the same luxury feel while better aligning with our environmental values.

Transparency and progress matter to us - and we’re committed to making responsible improvements, step by step.

Do you use any by-products from the food industry?

Yes, we do - and we’re proud to. Using by-products from the food industry is one of the ways we support our sustainable ethos by helping to reduce waste and give natural materials a second life.

We are continuing to explore and introduce new upcycled ingredients that align with our values, such as -

Oryza Sativa (Rice) Germ Powder

Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil

Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil

Activated Charcoal (comes from coconut shells)

Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Sweet Orange) Peel Powder

Pyrus Malus (Apple) Seed Oil

Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil

Coffea Arabica Seed powder

This approach allows us to create products that are not only effective and luxurious, but also more ethical and environmentally responsible - a true reflection of our B Corp commitment.

How does Bath House select its ingredients for products?

At Bath House, we take great care in selecting every ingredient we use - choosing only what is safe, effective, and aligned with our values.

We prioritise ingredients that are:

Natural, eco-certified, and where possible, organic.

Sourced responsibly, with consideration for environmental impact.

Proven to deliver results - whether that's to nourish, protect, soothe, or restore the skin.

Plant-based, including by-products from the food industry, to help reduce waste.

We are proud to be Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free, and we never test on animals - only on ourselves. We’re also in the process of achieving Vegan Society certification, and all current products are suitable for vegans.

Every ingredient we choose must meet strict safety and performance standards, and we continually review new developments in green chemistry and sustainable innovation to make our formulations even better.

Our approach is deeply rooted in our commitment as a certified B Corp - making decisions that are good for people, the planet, and our wider community.

In short, we choose each ingredient not just for what it does, but for what it stands for.

Do you use palm oil in your products?

No, all Bath House products are 100% palm oil–free.

While palm oil is cheap and widely used in the cosmetics industry, its production is linked to major environmental and ethical concerns - including deforestation, habitat destruction, and threats to wildlife, particularly orangutans. These impacts simply don’t align with our values.

At Bath House, we’ve chosen to completely avoid palm oil and instead use plant-based alternatives such as coconut oil–derived ingredients, which are more sustainable and gentle on the skin.

This is part of our broader commitment to creating products that are ethically made, environmentally conscious, and aligned with our responsibilities as a certified B Corp.

We believe skincare should never come at the cost of the planet - or the creatures we share it with.

Are any of your products tested on animals?

No - we are firmly against animal testing and have never tested any of our products or ingredients on animals.

We are proud to be Leaping Bunny certified, the globally recognised gold standard for cruelty-free cosmetics. This certification confirms that not only do we not test on animals, but neither do any of our suppliers or manufacturers - ensuring every step of our process is 100% cruelty-free.

Being cruelty-free is a core part of who we are, and always will be.

Are your products vegan?

Yes, all of our products are vegan and contain no animal-derived ingredients.

To make this even clearer and more trustworthy for our customers, we’re currently in the process of obtaining official certification from The Vegan Society, as well as Vegetarian and Plant-Based accreditations. This will help customers easily identify products that align with their lifestyle and values.

We’re proud to offer products that are not only effective and beautifully made, but also kind to animals and the planet - in line with our ethos as a cruelty-free, B Corp–certified brand.

Do you use microbeads in your products?

No, we do not - and never have - used microbeads in any of our products.

Microbeads are tiny plastic particles that have been widely banned due to their harmful impact on marine life and waterways. At Bath House, we’re committed to creating products that are both effective and environmentally responsible.

Instead of plastic microbeads, we use only natural exfoliants such as:

Walnut Shell

Orange Peel

Rice Powder

These are all plant-based by-products from the food industry, chosen not only for their gentle exfoliating qualities but also to support our goal of reducing waste and using sustainable ingredients.

What waxes are Bath House candles made with?

All Bath House candles are made using a clean-burning blend of Soy Wax and Rapeseed Oil - we never use Paraffin wax. This plant-based wax blend is chosen not just for its excellent scent throw and slow, even burn, but also for its sustainability. Rapeseed oil is grown in Europe, which helps reduce transport emissions, and soy wax is a natural, renewable resource that burns cleaner than paraffin-based alternatives.

We make our candles in small batches, carefully hand-poured and fragranced with the same attention to quality and detail as our perfumes. Just like the rest of our collection, our candles are cruelty-free, vegan, and part of our commitment to making more sustainable, conscious choices.

Why do a lot of your ingredients sound like chemicals?

It’s a great question - and one we’re asked often.

By law, all cosmetic ingredients must be listed using their official INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) names, which are often based on Latin or scientific terms. This helps ensure clarity and consistency worldwide, but it can make even natural ingredients sound a bit intimidating.

Many ingredients that sound like chemicals are actually derived from natural sources. For example:Decyl Glucoside – a gentle foaming agent made from corn sugar.

Cetearyl Alcohol – not a drying alcohol, but a moisturising, waxy emollient derived from plant oils.

Potassium Sorbate – a widely accepted preservative used in very small amounts to keep products safe and extend shelf life.

At Bath House, we use a very high percentage of naturally derived ingredients, and we choose every one for its safety, quality, and skin benefits. If an ingredient has a long name, we’re always happy to explain what it is and why it’s there.

We’re committed to transparency, education, and trust, and you’ll always find full ingredient listings on our packaging and website.

Where do you source your raw materials?

We take great care in choosing where our ingredients come from, always aiming to balance quality, sustainability, safety, and proven results.

Wherever possible, we source ingredients locally within the UK to reduce our environmental impact and support responsible farming and supply chains. When a specific ingredient isn't available locally, we extend our sourcing to trusted European suppliers, and only go further afield when necessary to ensure we’re getting the best and most sustainable option available.

All of our natural ingredients are eco-certified, fully traceable, and selected for both their performance and environmental integrity. This same thoughtful approach applies to our packaging and components, which we also source as locally and sustainably as possible.

At every stage, our goal is to create products that not only work beautifully - but also reflect our values as a B Corp committed to ethical, planet-conscious choices.

Which ingredients do you not use in any of your products?

At Bath House, we are committed to creating products that are safe, sustainable, and ethically made. That’s why we’ve chosen to exclude a number of commonly used ingredients that don’t align with our values or environmental standards. You will never find the following in our formulations:

Parabens

Sulphates (SLS, SLES, ALS)

Mineral Oils

TEA, DEA, MEA

Artificial Colours

Microbeads

Petroleum-derived ingredients

Palm Oil

Animal-derived ingredients

We have chosen to be 100% palm oil–free due to the environmental and ethical concerns linked to its production, including deforestation and habitat loss.

Instead, we use plant-based, eco-certified alternatives that are gentle on the skin and better for the planet. For complete transparency, you can view our Ingredient Black List here, where we explain why each of these is excluded.

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

While our products are made with high levels of natural ingredients, some do contain essential oils or fragrance, which can occasionally cause sensitivity in certain skin types.

We always recommend checking the full ingredient list and performing a patch test if you have concerns. For those with very sensitive or allergy-prone skin, our Customer Service team is happy to guide you toward gentler options.
