How local are we?
A look behind the scenes at Bath House...
When you open a bottle of Bath House’s British fragrance, lotion or wash, you’re not just experiencing a scent inspired by nature, you’re holding the work of a northern community in your hands.
In a world where many brands source globally without a second thought, we’ve always believed in something different: when you keep things local, every product carries a story. A story of craft. A story of place. A story of the people who make it.
And the numbers speak for themselves...
According to our latest materials report, 61% of all Bath House materials come from within the UK, and more than half of those - 55% - come from right here in the North West and Yorkshire.
For us, “local”, “sustainable” and “BCorp certified” aren’t marketing terms to throw around when it suits. These are commitments that shape our entire way of making.
Why does local matter?
It reduces our environmental footprint, shorter travel distances mean fewer emissions before ingredients even reach our making rooms in Dent, Cumbria. It’s one of the simplest but most impactful ways to reduce our footprint, and one we take seriously.
It supports northern craftspeople and small businesses, behind every bottle, jar and artisan fragrance are dozens of local suppliers - glass makers, packaging printers, fragrance specialists, component suppliers. By choosing local, we help sustain skilled jobs across the region.
It keeps us connected to the people who make what we do possible, we know our suppliers personally, and many of them have worked with us for years. Collaboration is easier, conversations are richer, and the shared commitment to quality is something you can feel in the finished product.

Meet the Makers, our local supply heroes...
Here are just a few of the companies we proudly work with across the UK - names you may never see on a label, but whose work touches everything we create.
Dekorprint, bring our bottle designs to life, crafting the print and finish that makes our aluminium and glass bottles items to be treasured.
B & D Print, our printers who we work closely with to ensure every piece of FSC approved packaging meets the brief.
Bluesky, a vital partner providing the parts that help bring our packaging to life.
Progress Packaging, based in the region, are a fellow BCorp company, part of the team ensuring that sustainable, beautifully designed packaging is possible.
Fragrance Oils & Surfachem, these suppliers help us source many of the natural and EcoCert-certified ingredients that go into our scents and formulations.
These businesses are part of a wider network of more than 40 key UK suppliers helping us create Bath House products with craftsmanship and care.

Local doesn’t mean compromise, it means character...
Some vegan skincare ingredients simply can’t be sourced in the UK due to climate or growing conditions, and where that’s the case, we choose carefully. But through thoughtful decisions and long-standing relationships, we’ve kept the majority of our supply chain as close to home as possible.
That’s why local sourcing is more than a sustainability metric - it helps define who we are. It shapes the look, feel and soul of our products.
When you use Bath House, you’re supporting the landscapes, livelihoods and creative talent of the North.

From Dent to you, a shared journey...
We make all our products in the heart of Cumbria because we believe the place you create from matters. It influences the craft, the pace, the values and ultimately, the quality.
Local sourcing keeps us grounded in this community. It strengthens the circular economy of the region. And it means that every Bath House product carries a thread of northern heritage from the bottle to the fragrance inside.
So next time you open a Bath House product, know that you’re not just choosing sustainable skincare. You’re choosing local craftsmanship, regional pride and a gentler way of making.
